Beyond our regular event program, we have projects for specific audiences: under the label of AmerikaHaus@School, we offer seminars, book readings, and excursions for students; and through thematic events and trade fair appearances, we target start-ups.
With EducationUSA, we are offering free virtual assistance to all interested students and their parents regarding studying or research possibilities in the US. The program is run in cooperation with the US Department of State.
In 2020, we started the AmerikaHaus NRW Journal, which appears as a 'journal within journal' in the magazine 360° USA. And we also offer or participate in other publications.
The AmerikaHaus@School project brings transatlantic topics and speakers into schools, informs students about current issues in politics and economy, and spreads interest and joy in culture. By meeting experts on an equal level, AmerikaHaus@School allows young people to critically discuss relevant societal issues and to foster their interest in a transatlantic exchange.
North Rhine-Westphalia is home to by far the largest number of US companies in Germany. NRW is evolving behind Berlin, but ahead of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, into the home of numerous start-up companies, especially in the field of digitalization. The successful establishment of the digital hubs in Aachen, Bonn, Düsseldorf and Cologne, supported by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia is proof of this.
