In November 2020, the next U. S. President will be elected, and campaigning has already started. Beyond the individual candidates, a lot seems to be at stake: the country is divided on several major political issues, as are the two main parties. Two of their representatives will join us for a lively discussion – with you!
Republican: Ralph C. Freund was born in Frankfurt, where he also went to school. After graduating from high school, he studied at Stanford University in the USA. He then studied economics and business administration at the University of Mannheim and completed his business administration and postgraduate studies at the TU Darmstadt. He worked for two investment banks in New York and Frankfurt am Main and founded the "Unternehmensberatung & Beteiligungen Freund“, with a focus on investment consulting and transaction management for corporate investments. He has already had various TV appearances and lectures and holds several memberships, among them Republicans Overseas Germany.
Democrat: Matt LeMieux is the Chair of the Democrats Abroad Germany Münster/Osnabrück Chapter. He is originally from Detroit, Michigan and, prior to moving to Germany in 2004, served nine years as the state director for the offices of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in Nebraska and Missouri. Matt is currently a lecturer in and coordinator of the University of Osnabrück's foreign law program (Fremdsprachliche Fachausbildung) and also gives lectures in the University of Münster's foreign law program.
Free Entrance. The Event will be held in English.
