Panel discussion: “Trumplomacy - North Korea, Iran, and Beyond"” with Prof. Eleanor Ty

Panel Discussion with Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook, Harvard University Dr. Enrico Fels, CGS Bonn University

U.S. President Donald Trump cancelled the meeting with North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore, what would have been a historic occasion. Thus, it comes all the more apparent that international diplomacy is currently experiencing a difficult phase. With the Iran agreement in shambles, U.S. and its major allies increasingly unable to see eye to eye on almost every major geopolitical issue and tensions in Syria and Gaza escalating once more, the current era poses serious challenges for international agreements, partnerships and peaceful solutions.

The Center for International Security and Governance at Bonn University will host an evening event with Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook from Harvard Kennedy School and Dr. Enrico Fels, CGS Bonn University, to discuss the state of international diplomacy, North Korea and particularly Trump’s revocation of the Iran deal.
