A lot of universities in the United States have a "holistic admission process", which means more than just academics are evaluated in the application process. To learn more about applicants, universities require an essay or a personal statement as a part of the application for admission. Why are these essays important? What belongs to a personal statement? What is the difference between a good and a great essay? This session will cover all of these points as well as some "dos and don'ts" for writing a personal statement.
