Together with the Association of German-American Centers, we cordially invite you to join us for a timely discussion on democratic resilience and the current U.S. political landscape.

David Frum is a writer at The Atlantic magazine and the author of two books dealing with the Trump presidency: the 2018 New York Times bestseller Trumpocracy - The Corruption of the American Republic and Trumpocalypse - Restoring American Democracy, published in 2020. From 2001-2002, he served as a special assistant and speechwriter to President George W. Bush during and after the 9/11 attacks on the United States. Frum earned a Bachelor and a Master of Arts in history at Yale University, then a Doctor of Law degree at Harvard University. He is a recognized intellectual leader of the American conservative movement and was one of the first conservative Republicans to sound the alarm about the challenges posed by the Trump presidency. His 2017 cover story in The Atlantic, "How to Build an Autocracy", has been one of the most cited works of the Trump years.

Half an Hour with… is a new transatlantic discussion series organized by the Association of German-American Centers (AGAC) (German: Verbund Deutsch-Amerikanischer Zentren (VDAZ)). Once a month, we jointly invite audiences to a 30-minute conversation with experts who provide well-informed and concise insights into the United States and German-American relations. Whether focusing on current political developments, social trends, economic perspectives, or cultural insights, Half an Hour with… brings transatlantic issues directly to your home or office. Take the opportunity to meet engaging speakers, explore different viewpoints, and contribute your own questions to the discussion.
