As the US election campaign heats up, the future of US support for Ukraine has become a hot-button issue. With a critical legislative bill that includes foreign policy assistance alongside border security and asylum policy measures still under negotiation  in Congress,  the likelihood of its passage dwindles. This scenario poses significant risks for Ukraine in its defense against the Russian invasion and places additional pressure on European allies to swiftly expand their assistance to Ukraine, especially in military aid.

In a virtual discussion Dominik Tolksdorf with US foreign policy experts, we will discuss the factors shaping US policy on Ukraine during the election year, the geopolitical ramifications of conflicts such as those expanding  in the Middle East, the options for the Biden administration to continue the support, and the implications for Ukraine and European allies. The discussion is moderated by Dominik Tolksdorf and speakers include Scott Cullinane, Director of Government Affairs, Razom for Ukraine, Andrea Kendall-Taylor, Senior Fellow and Director of the Transatlantic Security Program, Center for a New American Security (CNAS), and Hannah Thoburn, Senior Professional Staff Member for Europe and Eurasia, US Senate Foreign Relations Committee (tbc).
