An evening of live music awaits in Cologne’s historic old town, where Texas-based singer-songwriter Dickie Lee Erwin will take the stage at Papa Joe’s. Known for his original blend of country, Americana, and wide-ranging influences, Erwin offers a sound that is both rooted and refreshingly his own. His songs reflect the culture, stories, and rhythm of the American Southwest, shaped over decades of writing and performing. With multiple albums to his name and tours spanning the U.S. and Europe, Erwin brings a seasoned voice and a unique perspective to every performance.

He will be playing several sets throughout the evening between 8:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. with breaks for informal conversation in between. Guests are welcome to drop in at any time.

Dickie Lee Erwin originating from the windswept territories of southeast New Mexico and west Texas, stands as a beacon in the alternative country music scene. Growing up on farms and ranches, he began his musical odyssey with the piano at age 6. By 12, he had transitioned to the guitar, and by 19, the banjo, under the mentorship of James Henley. The award-winning singer, lyricist, guitarist, and banjo player Dickie Lee Erwin, alongside his band, has been a cornerstone of the Austin, Texas music community since the early 1980s. Dickie's 11 original albums, which include his recent EP "Dragonfly" seamlessly blend classic country and Americana. He's known for adding unique flairs, from jazz improvisations to samba rhythms and even psychedelic jams. His lyrics tell relatable tales, channeling the essence of the Texas high plains and narrating enchanting stories from America's expansive midnight highways.
