Dear Members and Friends of the AmerikaHaus NRW,

On the night before Halloween, we would like to cordially invite you to an eerie evening:

Shocking Shorts: A Dreadful Evening with Edgar Allan Poe

with Julian Harley (Speaker) &  Jakob Reinhard (Music)

Monday, October 30, 2023 | 7.00 p.m.

forum M | Buchkremerstraße 1-7 |  52062 Aachen

This "Dreadful Evening" will present you with some of the great works by famous American author and poet Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849). The texts performed include The Tell-Tale Heart, a short story about an unidentified and unreliable narrator describing a murder they committed; Poe’s well-known poem “The Raven”; The Fall of the House of Usher, a short story about madness, isolation and metaphysical identities; and finally the poem “Annabel Lee”, the last poem Poe completed about a beautiful woman and her death.

Julian Harley and Jakob Reinhard are part of the theater company Theater ex libres an ensemble with extremely versatile narrators, bringing literature to the stage as live audio plays with carefully selected music to match the plot. These performances are not easily forgotten by the audience. The texts will be read in English.

It's Halloween, so join us in your spookiest costume and you will receive a little surprise!

Tickets are limited and will be handled on a first come, first served basis. Please register via Eventbrite: https://readingedgarallanpoe.eventbrite.de
