Jolina Widders discovered the EducationUSA program at AmerikaHaus NRW while researching how to apply to U.S. universities and colleges. She contacted the adviser and received valuable information regarding financial aid, standardized tests and essay writing. She still found the application process tough, but having support made a big difference for her. As a result, beginning in fall 2025, Jolina will be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at Gettysburg College, majoring in Business with a minor in Psychology. She has received a scholarship that covers her tuition fees.

Jolina chose Gettysburg College for its prestigious academics, small size, and close-knit community. She thanks the EducationUSA adviser at AmerikaHaus NRW for helping her find a college that matches both her academic goals and personal interests.

Harry Akrofi-Mantey - University of Kentucky

During the application process to US universities, Harry Akrofi-Mantey worked hard on preparing the required documents and soon passed the standardized tests. What he struggled with was writing an application essay. He thus got in touch with the EducationUSA adviser at AmerikaHaus NRW, who supported him by offering general tips on essay writing, explaining what universites are looking for and finally by proofreading his draft. Harry submitted applications to several schools and received offers from three of them. In the end, he opted for the PhD Program in Chemistry at the University of Kentucky. Harry received a full tuition scholarship and a stipend as a teaching and research assistant.
