Jolina Widders - Gettysburg College
Jolina Widders discovered the EducationUSA program at AmerikaHaus NRW while researching how to apply to U.S. universities and colleges. She contacted the adviser and received valuable information regarding financial aid, standardized tests and essay writing. She still found the application process tough, but having support made a big difference for her. As a result, beginning in fall 2025, Jolina will be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at Gettysburg College, majoring in Business with a minor in Psychology. She has received a scholarship that covers her tuition fees.
Jolina chose Gettysburg College for its prestigious academics, small size, and close-knit community. As a dedicated swimmer, she was also drawn to the competitive swim team, which allows her to continue pursuing her passion at a high level. She thanks the EducationUSA adviser at AmerikaHaus NRW for helping her find a college that matches both her academic goals and personal interests.
Özlem Dilan Batuk - Arizona State University
Özlem Dilan Batuk found out about EducationUSA through a professor who suggested to get in touch with the AmerikaHaus NRW in Cologne. Working with the EducationUSA adviser, especially during the development of her purpose statement, helped her refine her ideas and express her goals clearly. She utilized the feedback to improve her application – and with great success: Özlem has been accepted to the Ph.D. program in Counseling Psychology at Arizona State University (ASU), starting fall 2025. She has received full funding, which includes a tuition waiver and a stipend through a research assistantship.
The AmerikaHaus NRW wishes her all the best for her PhD studies and future endeavors!
